Mastering
With mastering we mean different proceses that are done in the endphase of the production of a CD: Setting the order of the tracks, adjusting the pauses between movements or songs, balancing the levels betwenn different tracks and, when needed equalizing them. In this production phase we also cleen up and reduce noise.
For the production of the CDs we ship the master format DDP and audio (96 kHz / 24 bit) WAV files for digital distribution.
During the process of mastering our goal is that the sound keeps its natural dinamics, meaning there is no need of changing the volumen while listening to the different tracks of a CD.
The dinamic range of a symphony orquestra or a piece of contemporary music can ber much greater duing the live performance than what can be heard at home: Eather the pianissimo parts are not heard or the neighbours call the police when the fortissimo comes on. This is solved by carefull compression that maintains musical relationships at all times.
